Two-way Dual Language Program contains Spanish-speaking students and English-speaking students in the same educational environment to provide communicative ***** academic language development. This is through an interactive and cross-cultural setting. Program participation begins in kindergarten, which continues through the fifth grade. The recent shift to global informationbased economies means that students will need to learn how to deal w*****h large amounts of information and be able to communicate across *****s ***** cultures. Teachers ***** no longer ***** only source of information, but act ***** facilitators so ***** students can actively interpret and organize the information they are given, fitting it into prior knowledge (Dole, Duffy, Roehler, & Pearson, 1991).
