ABSTRACT

While females have experienced and overcome barriers to entry in numerous occupations, female police *****, female *****, and females ***** ***** military have had to deal with a culture and mentality that ***** (and still is to ***** degree) so firmly entrenched, i.e., the good old boys network taken to its extreme. Although certain individuals in society may believe that females should be excluded from becom*****g police officers, firefighters, or from joining the ***** due to their perceived emotional *****/***** physical weakness, the reality is that countless females ***** as qualified, if not more qual*****ied, than their male counterparts. In addition, once a fe***** becomes a police officer, firefighter, or joins the milit*****ry, she will ***** with and conquer ***** exact same challenges as the men, i.e., her li*****, like the lives of *****, will be put on the line each ***** every single work day.
This paper analyzes and examines the issue of female police *****ficers ***** maternity leave. In Part II, ***** history of women ***** police ********** is discussed. ***** III examines the Family Medical Leave Act and its assorted advantages and dis*****. In Part IV, the maternity leave policies of eight police departments within ***** United States and two ***** departments from outside the ***** States are out*****d.
Part V reviews short-term *****ability insurance. Lastly, this ***** concludes with proposals for improving and maintaining the current policies which govern female police officers and maternity *****.
