Essay - Freedom and Responsibility Are Two Things That Always Exist Together....

Freedom and responsibility are two things that always exist together. A person has individual freedom in society, but also responsibility to everyone else in the society to allow them their individual freedom. In a society where everyone exists together, a person's ***** ends *****s soon as their freedom impinges on another. At the same time, society itself h***** resp*****sibility to an individual. As we see in "Trifles" when the responsibility to a person is broken by either society or another person, moral struggles result. The message ***** "Trifles" ***** that responsibility to an ***** should take priority.
Firstly, as a person one has *****, but having this freedom means another person is repressed. Conversely, *****'s own ***** is repressed because of the freedom of *****. The most common example of th***** is the anti-smoking argument. If smoking ***** banned in public places, the smoker has lost their freedom ***** smoke, while the non-***** has ga*****ed *****ir ***** not to be in a smoke-filled environment. The decision to ***** made in this case is easy. Smok*****g is damaging to one's health. Therefore, the non-smoker ***** justified in being ********** the freedom not to inhale the smoke. The same could be said of the speeding rule. A person's ***** to drive at wh*****ever speed *****y like is restricted ***** of traffic rules. This is justified because speeding puts other people's lives at r*****k. Wh***** we see here is that a person's freedom ends as soon as their actions can endanger another person. There ***** also the c*****e where a ********** freedom ends ***** of the effect on society as a whole, with government being the center ***** *****.
A person's freedom is ***** because of the law requiring *****m ***** pay taxes, th***** directly impacts on society as it raises the revenue required. Freedom is limited ***** every*****e is part of the community. There is no option here for people. You do *****t have ***** choice whether to be part of society and pay taxes, it is a requirement of living in *****. Mrs Peters shows this belief ***** she says, "But Mrs. Hale, the law is the law." (Gl*****pell, 16.)
Many of the laws that govern society ***** based on ma*****taining *****. This includes criminal laws, which are easily justified, ********** protect everyone's safety. It also includes business laws, which again protect society ***** clarifying how businesses can operate. Everyone has a responsibility towards ***** simply because they are part of it. This means ***** individual free*****m is restricted in favor ***** the freedom of society.
The question that "Trifles" raises, is when is it all right to overlook this responsibil*****y to society in favor ***** responsibility to an individual. In life, this question is ra*****ed often. Stealing is a crime, but is it acceptable to steal food if a child's l*****e dep***** on it? ***** the play we see that a ***** ***** of 'suppression ***** evidence' occurs w***** Mrs. Peters ********** *****. Hale hide ***** bird. The fact *****
