Since little exists, what are some ideas on how to increase data-based studies of rural battered women? How would you go about reaching out ***** the women who are afraid to reveal their abuse?

Domestic violence against women is becoming an increasingly acknowledged problem in the United States. It is estimated that between two to four million women are physically abused every year, making a woman battered ***** 18 seconds. There are very few data based studies of rural battered women that ex*****t today, but in order to help *****se women more data needs to be collected (Johnson, 2000).

One way to increase the data that is available is to require mandatory reporting by rural health c***** providers. "Most observers now agree ***** ***** need to r*****inely screen for violence, provide sensitive and nonjudgmental support, address patient safety, document ***** abuse and provide information about options and resources" (*****, 2000). Women that are abused are very likely ***** need medical attention. If the ***** attention ***** is provided by ***** care providers is required to be reported to state agencies, there would be a chance ***** collecting and analyzing data ***** see if ***** resources may be needed in those areas and could be funded by the state.

One resource that is definitely lacking is that of education. So many women are ***** to ***** the abuse ***** *****y are going through for ***** different reasons. The problems regarding rural domestic ***** are made worse *****: poverty, lack of transportation, a shortage of health care providers, lack of *****, lack ***** community programs, and ***** of health insurance (Johnson, 2000).

With increased resources in the rural areas it would be possible to develop an education program that ***** be targeted at these women, so that they would know that they can get out and that there is assistance available to help them. But with***** the money and personnel to deliver ********** services there will many ***** ***** continue to suffer in silence.

Create a teen center that will help combat the rising num*****r of *****s who have mental illness/substance abuse problems. What are ***** funding ideas, *****al/counseling programs, and job opportunities ***** ********** clinic ***** provide?

Just like adults, children can have mental health disorders that interfere with ***** way they live their lives. When left untreated, mental health conditions ***** lead to school failure, family conflicts, drug abuse, violence, and even suicide. Untreated mental ***** disorders can be ***** expensive ***** families, communities, ***** the health care system.
