Mrs. Bush Steals Show

An analysis of the ABC Nightly News - May 1, 2005. The story is "Mrs. ***** Steals ***** at Reporter's Dinner." Th***** was a humorous piece th*****t showed Laura Bush speaking at ***** 9*****st annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner. ***** ***** used several news packaging techniques to persuade the viewer that *****'s speech was unusual, funny, and out of character for her. The length ***** the s*****ry was about two minutes long, and it ***** Mrs. Bush first interrupting the President as he began ***** "old joke," and t*****n talking ***** him as if it were some kind of roast. The President chuckled at many of ***** remarks, and ***** piece cut from the First Lady to the President ***** his reaction several times. ***** banter seemed good natured, and the piece gave ***** idea that the ***** Lady enjoyed her speech. So did ***** crowd, the piece ended with ********** giving her a standing ovation. This piece was presented so that the First ***** came off *****ny but not overbearing, and the reaction ***** very positive in the crowd. It was very well done, and enjoyable, even funny ***** watch, which made it seem more like entertainment than straight
