BACKGROUND TO THE STUDY

Parenting styles have been the focus of extensive research in the field of educational psychology with different ***** of parent*****g stated in f*****dings to have differential effects on the development of a child. LITERATURE REVIEW

The construct of parenting style, based on Baumrind's concept ***** parenting style, ***** used ***** "capture normal variations in parent's attempts to control and socialize their children (Baumr*****d, 1991) According to the ***** of Mccoby & Martin, 1983 "Parenting style captures two primary elements of parenting which are those of: (1) parental responsiveness; and (2) parental demandingness.
