Since a resume is usually the first thing that a prospective employer sees, I thought resume writing would be ***** very useful area to explore. ***** began with a basic Google search, "***** writing," that returned over 13 million possibilities. I cru*****ed through about 20 sites. I saw ***** that were obviously intended for recent college graduates due to *****ir somewhat juvenile graphics and phrasing such as on Jobstar.org. Other sites were ultra-professi*****al ***** probably intended ***** experienced people who may be seeking a job or career change. I found many of these sites to ***** overwhelming to navigate ***** to small print and too much inf*****mation revealed at one time. Finally, I decided on a site c*****lled jobweb.com.
Jobweb.com is a service ***** the National Association of Colleges ***** Employers (NACE) located in Bethlehem, PA. The full address ********** ph***** and fax number was provided at the bottom of ***** home page. The site as a whole says "Career development and job-***** advice for new college graduates" (jobweb.com). Although the audience here is recent college *****, unlike the above mentioned *****, th***** site takes a more serious ***** pr*****essional stance. The intention here is to assist students in finding a position and making the transition ***** the professional world. The domain name does not attempt to be funny or even catchy. This is a factual and ***** site and the name reflects *****. Jobweb.com implies not only job, but also use of the web. Most college graduates are highly proficient at using ***** web and many prefer it as a way of g*****hering knowledge and communicating. The site lives up to its name. It is about ***** a job ***** using the web to network and gather information.
***** content of this page is equally about writing resumes and interviewing as those processes go h*****-in-hand. The ***** ***** for those services is uncluttered and organized in an e*****ily understood pattern. Text that represents links is blue in color which ***** a popular color on the ***** due to its sooth*****g, yet professional appearance. The main category ***** resumes contains nine bulleted links on topics ***** as "actions words," "sample resumes," and "what employers want." The information at those links uses ***** same ***** and organizational pattern which creates consistency and professionalism. ***** amount of information given at each link is limited as to not be overwhelming. If t***** is a great deal of *****, it ***** broken in***** categories ***** bullet points. For instance, in the section called "how to prepare an effective resume," the information is clearly divided by num*****r into three ***** *****s, then subdivided ***** headings where the information ***** presented in outl*****e style. This made ***** easy for me to read all of ***** information or search for something specific such as "design" where I ***** information about the basic layout ***** a successful resume.
Subhe*****dings lower on ***** main page divide additional ***** into numbered groups if the searcher needs more information.
