Essay - Rome Statute of the ICC President-elect Barack Obama: Dear Sir...

Rome Statute of the ICC
***** Barack Obama:
Dear Sir,
First, let me congratulate you on your historic win ***** November 4th. Throughout American cities and towns, many were so overjoyed by your election that *****y held parties, decorated signs with your name, ***** wore buttons in your honor. I, too, was encouraged ***** ***** election and your promise to bring hope where only despair rained previously. It is for this reason that I am writing ***** you, to in*****m *****, as you most surely are already aware, of the fact that *****s are not the ***** group who need hope. *****ndeed, ***** across the world ***** in desperate need of hope as I type these words. In Rwanda, remainders of genocide burst forth in violence almost every day. ***** Darfur, many need humanitarian aid. In China, some still suffer abject poverty. As you are well aware, the United States' plays an enormous role in international affairs. Thus, it is partly the duty of the United States to bring hope ***** *****, who are also hopeless. A magnificent way in which th***** c***** be done is through ***** support of the Rome Statute, which resulted ***** the creation of the International Criminal Court. The ICC is the *****acon of hope to the international world, just as you were a beacon of hope in the United States. If given legitimacy, the ICC will not only establish that human rights' abuses ***** not acceptable, even by a country's leaders, but it ***** also help to create a sense of reliance among international states, establishing international values, and fostering a greater global civil society. This will give hope to both ***** citizens of countries that are currently experiencing human rights abuses, in addition to those citizens of the world who hold out hope for peace.
Respectfully Yours,
Concerned
