President George W. Bush will go down in history as one of the most unpopular presidents in ***** annals of American politics. With the trampl*****g of Pres. Bush's Republican Party by the Democrats in both U.S. House and Senate, these is a clear sign and mandate from the ***** voters that majority of Bush's actions the previous years are not accepted by the citizenry. One ***** the major political platforms of the U.S. president ***** his stance on the "war ***** terror" brought about by ***** 9/11 terrorists attacks and since then, he has been dubbed as doing a lot of Orwellian acts. It all started with "t***** Bush administration's proposal for a l**********rinthine 'Department ***** Homeland Security (DHS)' included an exemption from the Freedom of Information Act (Evans, 2002). The DHS has "22 federal agencies and have more armed agents than any other agency. But the Bush administration doesn't want you to be able ***** find out what the hell it's doing. National security, you know. (Evans, 2002)" Suddenly, the U.S. ***** an ********** and all-seeing ***** department that is "allowed to peek in your bedroom without you knowing or permitting the peeking - so to speak." Th***** is all done in the guise of "Hey, ***** might have a terr*****ist under your bed!"

***** question now is ***** especially with the overwhelm*****g invasive power of the DHS in the ***** ***** a "war on terror" - "Is ***** United States at the entry stage of an Orwellian America?" Before answering this thesis, one could reiterate a ***** paper written stating (Baek, 2006):

Trying ***** take the right of a person to feel unh*****ppy is like turning a society in***** tyranny. A society that allows freedom of speech would be a society that ********** and respects each person's op*****ion about a specific matter. ***** ***** that prohibits ***** of ***** is a society where an individual has to always be c*****ful when they express their opinion. *****e government of a tyr*****nnical society is more likely to have regulations that need to be obeyed by the population. Otherwise if people do not obey, severe consequences, such as death, can occur.

In Orwell's 1984, the novel revolves around the perils of a tot*****litarian and autocratic society and it serves ***** a ********** against absolutism especially with the use of emerging technologies. Depending on which side of the fence you belong, 1984 is a model ***** a utopi*****n or dystopian ***** that rid itself of love, compassion, passion, logic, and reason. Despite a society ***** he*****lthy and strong citizens - perfect human beings (!) - the outer manifestation does not show the ***** ***** collective rage felt inside as a result of the inability to express *****'s true thoughts, feelings and *****s especially against Big Brother. Parallel to Orwell's 1984 and with the same genre is Aldous Huxley's Brave New World that almost mirrors ***** "supposedly" ***** society. In both c*****es, one *****not just speak ill or *****thing opposed
