Writing Peer Reviewed Journals
Student-to-student, peer reviewed journals are becoming a more popular addition to the publication world. This is partly because students are looking for ways to get published and become better known, which can be difficult to do. With the help of student-to-student peer reviewed journals, on the other hand, graduated students can get their professional foot in the door so they can get a good start to a long and prosperous career.
In order to write a student-to-student peer reviewed journal essay, you need to be able to offer something new and interesting to the field. Simply writing a research paper that rehashes information that is already known within the field will not suffice. Rather, you must either conduct research and then write about your research results or you must gather research information and create a paper that takes a different look at the information that is already known.
When writing an article for a peer reviewed journal, whether a student-to-student peer reviewed journal or not, you must look at the guidelines as established by the journal. Often, journals will have a very specific format for writing papers that are to be submitted to the journal and failure to follow these guidelines will make it so your paper doesn’t even get reviewed at all.
In addition to reading the format guidelines as established by the journal, you should also read articles that are included in the journal. This will give you a better idea of the type of style the journal tends to publish.
When writing an article for a journal, your information should be research based, whether you have conducted the research yourself or not. In addition, a peer reviewed journal article is not an opinion piece and is not intended to sway the reader to agree with a certain point of view. Rather, you are simply presenting information to the reader and the reader can draw his or her own conclusions from the information presented. At the same time, you can point the reader in certain directions by discussing what the research results could possibly mean and the impact this information could have upon the field.
When you write an article for a peer reviewed journal, you also need to make sure to cite the references that you have included in your article. In addition to including a bibliography at the end of the paper, you will also need to include foot notes and will likely be called upon to cite your sources within the body of the article.
As with any form of writing, your article will need to have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. The introduction should include the thesis, which is a statement that tells what the article will be about, and it should give the reader a purpose for reading. The body should go on to explain and support your thesis, while the conclusion will restate the thesis and will summarize what you wrote about in the body of your essay.
