One theorist, Hildegard Peplau (1952), described nursing as "A healing interpersonal procedure done by nurses through facilitating growth and increase amongst patients." Peplau regarded the relations that are between nurse and patient as being very beneficial to the nurse and the patient as well (LaSala, 2007). Her theory is look upon as a developmental model utilized for nursing, by reason of her concept of the patient passing going through four developmental stages in sequence to accomplish health. Hildegard Peplau functioned inside mental health nursing and, even though her work communicates mainly in the direction of this kind of nursing, concepts which shape her model can be utilized inside overall nursing. Truth-seekers Peplau and McMahon are both alike in the technique they use in conceptualizing the professional and personal development of the patient and nurse, correspondingly. Peplau advises there are diverse stages of a nurse-patient association, the orientation, identification, utilization and lastly the determination phase. In difference Logan, Roper, and Tierney's (2001) "The Activities of Daily Living Model," is a model that is considered biomedical. This paradigm utilizes a framework which is theorized as 12 undeveloped doings of humans. One of these plain actions is communication; and this is important as communication is vital in emerging (and upholding) an advantageous nurse-patient association. Both actions are intellectualized as confining of five components: physical, biological, sociocultural, ecological and politico-financial. They endorse that nurses shadow the nursing procedure in order to determine with which of the 11 activities of living that the patient accomplishes and does not need Nurses assistance. In comparison is Peplau's conceptualization of the nurse-patient connections, which centralizes on the therapeutic connection as disparate to Logan, Roper, and Tierney's model that appears to be more psychologically positioned, even though it is an extensively used model in practice, because of it being unpretentious to use.


To an extent the researcher had discovered that nursing theories and concepts can be very helpful in clarifying nursing practice and this has been beneficial in gaining a better accepting of their significance and importance going on in the nursing practice. The concepts are a very important device in increasing abilities to formulate a valuable nurse-patient association, as they can be utilized an outline for nursing care. It has been discovered that the idea of thoughts, philosophies and models puzzling and compound to comprehend, but it can clearly be seen how theorists' ideas can be used to clarify, make sense and practice in nursing. Learning about the nurse-patient connection has revealed a lot of ways for nurses to improve in interpersonal skills.
