Therefore the vision, mission and values of the company create its culture which in turn affects the strategic plans and the effective implementation. One example of values not being followed resulting in chaos relate to the multinational corporations. The value standards in the case of multinational corporations are even more complex because of the tendency to be involved in political influence abroad. Thus it could lead to corrupt governmental processes and harm the national interest for corporate profits. In some cases it has also resulted in violation of human rights. All these are the result of decisions made solely for profit or advancement without ethical considerations. (Kline, 2005) This has global implications. Thus there must be special programs and plans created to keep the decisions ethical.

Like most other strategies that involve modeling and planning there can be a system created within the corporate system for ethical behavior. An organization's vision is what it is in the market for. In other words the vision is the ideal to be achieved in its particular lines of the business. On the other hand the mission signifies the way and the method of bringing about the vision. Values thus are the high principles that have to be followed by the company in achieving the mission and then the vision. A participative leadership style gives maximum importance to the implementation of the mission, and vision of the company to the leadership which must thus include it in the plan. Thus the organizations leadership must encourage the workers and other personnel of the company to implement its value statement. Thus the employees and management have to be committed to the core values. (Shapiro; Stefkovich, 2001)

There must therefore be a shared commitment absolutely to the core values of the company by all the constituents of the company. The role of values in the creation of a corporate system shared by all the employees and management of the company can show what cannot be crossed, and what must be avoided. While the strategic plan creates long-term goals for the organization and provides for the blue print to achieve the goals, the creation of strategic controls that governs the individual strategy and response can be monitored and controlled by a strategic management control system which oversees the working of ethical audits in decisions. (Kreitner, 2008)


Ethics and ethical behavior distinguish dutiful citizens from criminals. Corporate decisions that are ethical and founded on principles distinguish the company from the unethical ones which always end up in the same way the individual who is unethical ends up with punishments. The individual ethics and principles form the basis of organizational ethics and for both the process of decision making is identical. The corporate or organizational decision making is very complex and requires a lot of study of issues that shape the organization. The ethical behavior of the vast majority of the individual units in the decision making process of the company means that the company becomes capable of honoring commitments and is respecting fair play and such ethical companies have many advantages such as increasing market share and loyalty of the employees.

The organization culture must be developed in such a way that the employee follows an ethical decision making process in all cases. For that the ethics and principles of its operation must be embedded in the core values and goals of the company. This can create a shared commitment among all constituents of the company and the leaders who follow the core values in all decisions always influence the employees and management of the company. Thus the evolution and progress of the corporate system as a whole must be based on ethical behavior. This will then tend to create decisions based on ethics.
