One needs to discuss the findings that were in this particular article that are of utmost importance. The researchers conclude that this was a positive affect with math as well as math ESRL. Additionally, they found that the same was true with that of a negative effect on English achievement and Math ESRL. Article Review on Forming Self-Regulated Learning Perceptions: The Assignment

Immediately, one can tell that bias did occur with this study because the same results occurred because of the fact that the proof is there from those who administered the tests. Not only that, but also the theory is supposed to bring about a relationship that is zero between each component studied. Since the researchers did not have an equal amount of those who participated in the project, they immediately skewed their results because no zero relationship occurred. This is because the females were at .0001 and the males were at .051. By looking at these numbers, one has to conclude that the investigators did something majorly wrong with their work with the students when trying to understand self-regulated learning. These are quite significant when trying to grasp the findings from the exploration. Regardless, one has to note that there is a lack of means in which for the authors to make a good conclusion that makes complete sense. Their results are not much different than that of where they learned of this particular topic to begin with in the first place. They need to seek to find a way to reconcile these results, and admit their shortfalls during this process (Forming Self-Regulated Learning Perceptions: The Influence of Internal and External Comparison, n.d.).

This is what the authors concluded from their work, which is quite interesting. They learned that their external was more accurate than that of their internal findings; however, one would not have to agree with this because there was not enough information provided for the reader to understand how the findings were analyzed, which the authors should have mentioned. They went on to believe that they were invariant when it comes to the gender aspect of their study. Thankfully, each of them were able to admit their downfalls because they did not anticipate for internal differences in regards to the gender portion of the math and verbal aspects of it. One has to note that they failed to mention this on their results earlier, which makes one wonder if this aspect was made up to make the authors look good (Forming Self-Regulated Learning Perceptions: The Influence of Internal and External Comparison, n.d.).

What the investigators decided to do was to refer back to Bandura. One thinks that this is their way of avoiding the issue, instead dealing with it immediately. This was their explanation for it (Forming Self-Regulated Learning Perceptions: The Influence of Internal and External Comparison, n.d.). "The limited use of internal comparisons in the development of student self-regulated learning efficacy could be the increased reliance on peer contact and comparison that typically occurs during adolescence" (Forming Self-Regulated Learning Perceptions: The Influence of Internal and External Comparison, n.d.).

Some of their limitations were mentioned, which is worth mentioning. They admitted that two subject areas were studied. Their results were skewed because of the researchers primarily had to do with white students. This did include that of one determinant when it comes of self-regulated learning.
