This can be enabled and encouraged by opening new channels of communication with customers or followers. Examples of this in action would be listening to feedback from those groups through the use of social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. The social media has revolutionized the societal and cultural connections that can be made and this has thus improved relationships and connections with followers and leaders in a way that is beyond the traditional paradigm.

Today's leaders must evaluate new knowledge and build a solid foundation of community by engaging and transforming that knowledge to and with others. This will help leaders in gaining new knowledge and information. This will benefit them and the organizations that they work within. Leaders should have the opportunity to examine their leadership style and learn from the experiences of others within the social media sphere. This leads to a bit of training and self-development that ends up improving the efficacy and adeptness of the leaders that participate in these endeavors. Collaboration and transformation of knowledge should be encouraged based on the benefits it brings to others and to the community. It will tend to positively impact and change the global economy as the leaders and followers positively influence each other using these newly learned and/or expanded methods. Part of the appeal of this method is the learning from each other's experiences, establishing mutual respect and building trust.

Good and successful leaders need to have a clear vision and need to acquire a strategic mindset and competence. This must come with an ability to connect their mind to their followers' minds. This is accomplished and attained by engaging followers and their stories as told and explained within the social media paradigm. Leaders need to have a strong sense of discipline and a belief in their purpose and mission. They also need to control their emotions and have an ability to build a solid relationship with others. These relationships need to be based on trust, loyalty and integrity. Further, leaders must be experts in their domain. They must be effective communicators, fair, honest and seek positive change within their communities and organization. Also, leaders should strive to create a positive social environment to promote an affirmative emotional attitude in others and try to prevent the negative emotions from emerging and festering. All of this needs to occur whilst discussing issues or problems in a professional manner that is constructive and solution-focused.

A recent study revealed that good leaders have a tendency to use social media to improve awareness and promote strategic alliances with internal and external customers. Strong leaders are able to connect to business partners and customers to gather others' perspectives. They also learn to understand both themselves and others in e-commerce domains. They end up being able to leverage information gathered through social networking sites for analytical decision support. The results and metrics can then be used to reshape the business and become or remain competitive. The majority of respondents see the value of social media as being far more valuable for enabling greater levels of external collaboration as well as information and knowledge sharing. Given that, leaders need to improve organization processes both internally and externally. Business actions should be honed and perfected. Leaders and their organizations should be acknowledging and mindful the importance of renovating their organizational environment to be more effective and efficient within and outside the social media sphere. Also, collaboration tools help people share, search, engage, and connect with other people and content in significant ways that help them work together toward common goals. An effective collaboration tool should promote communication no matter what precisely is being shared. Common examples would include diagrams, photographs, reports and charts. These data pieces and arrangements can be shared and explained quite easily given the right virtual environment and stage.

Adaptability

A leader's level of adaptability within the social media world depends on the leader's level of participation, degree of engagement and the quality of awareness. Another important factor is a leader's ability to harvest knowledge about the specific social subjects or social situations. Upon taking the proper inventory of both, the leader will then adjust their behavior in a manner that is effectively based upon their new knowledge and motivations. The ability for leaders to adapt to new social situations, build social networks, collaborate with others in a barrier-breaking way, exchange ideas and create new channels of communication can benefit everyone exposed to such mastery. Hence, social media has presented virtual environments as a new concept and many leaders have adapted a virtual approach to the traditional workplace. This has revolutionized the way in which leaders function, both personally and professionally.

Social media provides a platform for leaders and followers to establish a relationship of mutual benefit and symbiosis. When it comes to feedback and dialog, both leaders and followers need to be allowed to have their time to speak and be heard. Social networking tools are gateways to help leaders to communicate in real time and see input from each other in its most original form without third parties or paraphrasing causing pollution or filtering of the data. This also enables followers be the evaluators of leaders work and often creates genuine and complete messages on social networking platforms for others to share information that is often overlooked, but critical to the success or failure of leadership actions.

Social media tools give help to others when it comes to understanding leaders and their situation. However, it can also set the stage for gossip. Some people have a tendency to personalize situations. This is especially true when speaking of matters relating to integrity or ethical issues. Social networking tools allow followers to react when a leader happens to fail in certain endeavors or situations. When a leader needs more information than followers can supply, a leader may reply on social media platforms to gather historical data that is related to such topics such as how others have reacted to similar situations in the past. This sort of evidence-based practice may allow leaders to better understand how followers will react based on certain stimuli. This in turn will influence the leader's decision-making. Leaders must embrace the strengths of social media tools because it allows for the overcoming of shortcomings that he or she may encounter. The leader can learn these tools and then prioritize any weaknesses that become apparent. When used properly, this can allow for expedient and through response to any complaint or concern from followers. As a result of social media technology enablement, leaders are able to influence others through new channels with high involvement by acknowledging followers' demands, gathering more data, taking and responding to criticism and responding to followers' concerns in a brisk manner.

Agility

The leader's agility within social media depends on a leader's ability to adapt to a social technology. This would include being able to generate a quick response to uprising social situations by utilizing preparations with a quick, measurable and effective approach. Leaders of this stripe should be flexible with open mindsets and frequently discuss issues and solutions in a clear and concise way. This will in turn empower followers to make an effective contribution and offer the proper reactions. The totality of this interaction will ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to participate in problem resolution. Also, a leader's success when it comes to the leveraging of social media and promote challenging thinking concepts can clearly be associated and correlated to the purpose of improving followers' knowledge and share information.

Agile leaders should have a strong sense of emotional intelligence and the ability to develop social and emotional intelligence. This condition allows them to control their emotions when they face a challenging situation in the social media arena. The ability to respond to a challenging issue appropriately and in timely manner is vital. Social media has exposed leaders to a new paradigm of leading others with emotional intelligence, self-awareness and self-regulation. This helps them to develop their leadership skills and be more effective in leading others. Also, leaders should strive to create a positive environment to promote an affirmative emotional attitude in others. They should make an effort to prevent negative emotions whilst discussing issues or problems in a professional manner.

Incorporation of social media learning and knowledge are essential for strengthening organizational leadership. This is true in terms of maximizing the ability and capability to adapt for leaders and followers alike. Social dynamic competence is about the ability to build and reconfigure internal and external social capabilities to address quickly changing environments.
