In the article titled Health Care Cost Trends, the author (Brian Hassan), is showing a host of reasons as to why the problem is occurring. The most notable include: medical related factors, lifestyle choices, cost shifting and inefficiencies. This is when Hassan highlights how these issues are made worse by the stagnant economy and increasing uninsured. The combination of these factors is creating a situation where this segment of the population will be effectively priced out of the health care system. Until these issues are addressed, Hassan predicts that the costs of health care will continue to have a negative impact on the industry. These elements are important because, they are showing how this article is discussing issues that are affecting the price of health care services. (Hassan, 2010)
