He is also responsible for the company's past and present financial situation and needs to be adept at economic forecasting and modeling in order to ensure the company's success in the future.

Finally, although not exclusively, Young's duties involve treasury tasks where he must decide how to invest the company's money being accountable too for risk and liquidity. He controls the capital structure of the company, deciding the best mix of equity, debt, and internal financing.
